Gaining Weight

November 7th 154lbs---------------------------January 29th 170lbs
I have heard people say that P90X is not good for everyone because it is just a program that makes you burn off a lot of water weight with high intensity cardio workouts.  I am here to show that this is not true.  My most recent round of P90X I quit running my 3-4 miles per day and did only P90X with a few modifications to see what the results would be like.  I take Vitol's Russian Bear 5000.  I gained 16lbs.  Vitol Russian Bear 5000, Ice Cream Chocolate 4-Pounds

If your plan is to loose  20-30 lbs in  the 90 days.... this is easily achievable.  Put a 100% into your workouts, use low weights, follow good nutrition, and do high repetitions.

If you want to gain 10-15 lbs in muscle during the 90 days this is equally achievable.  Eat, eat, and eat.  Make sure to eat lots of protein rich foods as well as good carbs. Use a post workout protein shake.  Put in 105%  and lift heavy reps. I was only able to do 6-7 reps on most workouts.

It is true that with the high intensity workouts you are burning off a lot of weight with cardio.  This is why P90X is so good for you.  You are burning off weight but you are also building muscles and muscles helps burn fat.   I highly recommend using this program!

Commit To Be Fit!


Decide now to be fit.  I don't care which program you use. Just commit yourself to something. It will change your life.  I am still not sure which program I will use for the next little while when I finish this round of P90X in under 2 weeks, but I guarantee you I will do something!








I want anyone who reads this to commit themselves to cleaning up their lives and being fit.  Not only that............. I want you to influence those around you to do the same.   I have never felt better about myself and about life in general.  Let's change peoples lives one at a time.

I never knew she had it!

So last night Kina is telling me at my parents that she wants to do some pull-ups.  I told her , "they don't have a pull up bar you can't do them."  This upset her a little  and I realized she wanted to do push ups.   So she drops to the floor and starts doing push ups.  I have never seen her do any before and she actually did pretty awesome!  I would say she did at least 75 in a 20 minute period.  Her cheeks were red and she said she was sweating ;)  I caught a little bit of it on  my cell phone!  Here it is!KINA DOING PUSH UPS

Bench Press

When I started working out in May of 2010 I weighed in at just over 180lbs. My max bench press was 135 lbs.  I know, WEAK.  I had met a couple of goals on the bench press but came to a plateau where I was stuck for 3 months with out raising my max weight.  I have not done much bench pressing, (maybe 2 times per month) over the past three months while I am doing P90X.  I know P90X makes your back strong but doesn't do too much for the chest.  I have also heard that a stronger back will increase your bench press. We'll it's true, on Saturday I passes my goal by 20 lbs and bench pressed 220lbs with a body weight of 165lbs.  It feels awesome to see results of hard work and determination.  P90X does more for you than just tone you up if you add heavier weights and lower your reps.
Two more weeks until I am done with this round of P90X!

a 5.11????

Well I skipped my Saturdays P90X and did about 4 hours of rock climbing!  I had a blast, I had not been since high school (11 years).  I made it up a 5.11 route and it felt awesome.  This takes a whole different level of strengh and muscles. I AM SORE.

  I am almost 7 months into staying fit and being active.  I have been extremely impressed with the results from P90X so far.  I have 30 days left on this round and I am still up in the air about what I will do for the following 3 months.  I would like to switch it up with a different routine and then return back to P90X in May.  Feel free to join in on the lifetime journey.

During these first 60 days of this round of P90X I have cut out my running I was previously doing, doubled my protein intake, added weighted vest to pullups, and overall eaten more than before.  I have now gained 13 healthy pounds since November 1st.

P90X update!

I struggled last night with chest and back again.  I felt like giving up after the first pass through the pushup and pullup sequence.  I was feeling light headed and discouraged that I could not finish it.  I turned it off and told myself I would finish the last 5 workouts +ABRX before bed.  I ended up taking my two little girls on a date and then finishing up when I returned home around 8:00pm. It felt good to not give up completely.
